The film is dedicated to the younger days of the future great poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Young Goethe, who hasn’t yet proved himself, studies in law school, but neglects his studying what makes his father angry. The angry parent sends his son to the sleepy town to work in an insignificant position at the courthouse. But in a new place Goethe falls deliriously in love with young Charlotte Buff and begins to dream of happiness with her, which seems so possible. However, as it turns out, the main character has a competitor. Great camera work in combination with harmonious music and stunning plot create a true masterpiece of cinematography.

Young Goethe in Love wants only to engage an audience with a capital-R Romantic ideal of Goethe’s first love. It does so very well. And it was well worth the effort. Also, the first kiss between Fehling and Stein is exceptionally warm — the stuff that novels, or poems, are made on.

Joe is a 15-year-old girl who has run away from her dysfunctional mother. Engel is not a name, it is the last name of handsome blond guy, who is also an orphan and punk, who also conducts a worthless way of life. After meeting, those two fall in love with each other. They are together all the time, they make great plans for the future. Neither treason nor lie, nor prison, nor even hard drugs can separate them… They experience enormous difficulties of teenage street life, but their young, but strong feeling helps to build heir own family after all. This film is about love, mistakes and life. Ordinary young people, still almost children, live like an adult, but make a lot of crazy things on their way.

The movie takes place in Berlin in 1927. The students Paul Krantz, a young poet from a poor family, and Guenther Scheller, a bored adventurer from a wealthy family, spend a country-house weekend. Here Paul falls in love with 16-year-old Gunther’s sister Hilde, but she prefers Hans, who is also in love with her brother. Ellie, a modest Hilda’s friend, is in love with Paul. Young people are having a party, where feelings of the main characters are awakened under the influence of prohibited absinthe and talking about poetry. Next day, four (Paul, Guenther, Hilde and Hans; Ellie went home earlier with having spent the night with Paul) return to Berlin, where the denouement takes place: having understood that Hans is more interested in Hilde (and Hilde is interested in Hans) Guenther and Paul wrote a suicide note. After that, Paul changes his mind and leaves the game. Then the drama ends with gunshots. Paul was arrested and charged with murder on the basis what is written in his note, “At this moment, Hans and Hilde die. And soon Gunther and I, laughing, will leave this world! “
